One of our reputed client in Fiji Islands is looking for an Financial Accountant.
The Accountant plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the financial reporting processes for the organization. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, examine, and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and sub-ledgers to uphold financial integrity and accuracy.
- Develop and maintain efficient accounting processes to optimize financial operations and support business growth.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost reduction or revenue enhancement.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, providing insights that align with strategic goals.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
- Collaborate with auditors during the annual audit process, providing requested documentation and explanations as needed.
- Prepare tax returns and ensure compliance with local tax regulations and reporting requirements.
- Provide financial analysis and reports to senior management, aiding in strategic planning and decision-making.
- Train and mentor junior accounting team members to enhance departmental capabilities and skill sets.
- Support the implementation of new accounting software or systems to streamline operations.
- Conduct periodic financial audits and internal controls assessments to improve organizational practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP B1, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
